Have you ever lied about being familiar with some band knowing full well you've never heard them? Have you ever said that you can still hear elements of the White Album in music being made by your favorite bands today, but you're left grabbing at straws when your buddy who wrote "Dear Prudence?" Is the Clash listed on your Facebook profile but you can't actually tell the difference between them and the Ramones? Don't worry you're pretty lying heart - there's a lot of critically acclaimed music from the past 50 or so years that remains relevant today and it's hard to keep up. The posts below are a the result of a personal project to have a first-listen to some of those acclaimed albums end-to-end, and jot down my thoughts.
